The New Canaan Recreation Soccer program is a co-ed soccer program that teaches the fundamentals of soccer in an enjoyable atmosphere. This program enhances a child’s physical and mental well-being through playing soccer. We recommend all players wear shin guards, sneakers (cleats preferred), and bring water. Each child will receive a t-shirt.

*We ask that all players bring a soccer ball for practice*

Days:
Tuesdays and Saturdays (1-hour time slots)
  • Practices: Tuesdays (5:45-645; Time will adjust as daylight changes)
  • Games: Saturdays
Price: $90.00

Divisions: Please note that if we do not have enough teams to form separate divisions, we will combine divisions as necessary. CO-ED divisions can be created. If we do not have enough participants for a particular division, we will need to cancel that division.
    • 1st and 2nd Grade (Co-Ed Division)
    • 3rd and 4th Grade (Co-Ed Division)

Game Schedule - Saturdays (1 Hour Slot): Slots are based on the number of teams.Times may vary accordingly.
  • Grades 1-2: 10:00 am
  • Grades 3-4: 11:00 am
Quick League Information:
  • Grades 1 & 2: Play 7 vs 7 on a small-sided field using a size 3 soccer ball. Shin guards are required.
  • Grades 3 & 4: Play 7 vs 7 using a size 5 soccer ball. Shin guards are required.
All coaches and assistant coaches are volunteers from the New Canaan community. We encourage parents with some knowledge of the sport to volunteer as coaches or assistant coaches. Coaches will receive information to help make their teaching time easier, productive, and fun for the children.
Coaches will not exchange players with other teams or allow any child to participate without prior approval from the League Director.

The New Canaan Recreation Department reserves the right to deny approval or remove a participating coach, assistant coach, or team parent from the Soccer Program. Coaches should stay off the fields while kids are playing. If a coach feels they need to be on the field directing the children, then only one coach per team should do so.


Refund Policy Recreation Programs and Permits- Refunds will be processed through the same form of original payment, except cash refunds will be processed by check.  No pro-rated partial refunds.  Recreation Programs- for all programs other than Day Camp and B/ASF classes, a full refund is given if withdrawal notification is received up to 7 days prior to the program start with return of unused t-shirt, less administrative fee of $5.00.  Day Camps-full refund given if withdrawal notification is received up to ten days prior to the session start, less administrative fee of $5.00.  B/ASF classes- $5 fee assessed if parent notification to the Recreation Department occurs up to 7 days before the start of the class.  $25 fee assessed if notification occurs within 7 days before the start of the class.  No refunds will be issued after the class starts.  Facility Permits- no refunds on permits for Pool, Kiwanis, Tennis, Paddle.
