Glide into Fun with Ice Skating Lessons!
Give your child the excitement of the ice with skating lessons at NCRINK! Our program helps young skaters build confidence as they learn how to fall and get up safely, glide with control, practice beginner backward skating, and explore fun introductory turns. It’s the perfect way to build balance, coordination, and a love for skating.
Schedule
Wednesdays: 4:15–5:15 PM
Saturdays: 9:00–10:00 AM
Class Breakdown:
Beginner Lessons (Wednesdays)
Ideal for new skaters ages five to ten. Instructors introduce foundational skills such as falling and getting up, basic starting and stopping, two-foot and one-foot glides, beginner backward skating, and simple forward-to-backward turns.
Advanced Beginner/Intermediate Lessons (Saturdays)
Perfect for skaters who already know the basics. This class focuses on crossovers, stronger backward skating, edge control, and more advanced turning skills. A helper is on the ice to support skaters throughout the session.
Skills covered: crossovers, backward skating, edge control, and turns.
All skaters must wear helmets. Parents/guardians are responsible for putting on helmets and skates.
Our Instructors:
Kristin Burkhart-
A U.S. Figure Skating Double Gold Medalist, Kristin has coached skaters from beginners to competitive athletes. She specializes in developing strong edges and powerful skating techniques for hockey players.
Janine Prete-
Janine is passionate about figure skating and has been coaching children and adults for almost eighteen years. She began skating at age six and trained with several prestigious coaches, including national and Olympic champions, in both Singles Figure Skating and Moves in the Field.
