Ice Skating Lessons (Ages 5-10)
Glide Into Fun with Ice Skating Lessons!

Give your child the chance to build confidence and have fun on the ice at NCRINK! Lessons are designed for skaters ages 5–10 and focus on balance, coordination, skating fundamentals, and overall comfort on the ice.
Class Format: Each lesson includes 30 minutes of instruction followed by 15 minutes of free skate.
Beginner Lessons: Perfect for new skaters learning the basics. Skills include falling and getting up safely, starting and stopping, two-foot and one-foot glides, beginner backward skating, and basic turns.
Advanced Beginner/Intermediate Lessons: Designed for skaters who are comfortable with the basics and are ready to continue improving. Skills include crossovers, stronger backward skating, edge control, and more advanced turns.
Important: All skaters must wear a helmet. Parents/guardians are responsible for putting on their child’s helmet and skates before the lesson.
Instructors:
Janine Prete
Janine is passionate about the sport of figure skating and has been coaching both children & adults from beginners to competitive skaters, for almost 18 years. She began skating at the age of 6 and trained with some of the most prestigious coaches (including National & Olympic Champions) in both Singles Figure Skating and Moves in the Field.
Kristin Burkhart
Kristin is a United States Figure Skating Double Gold Medalist. She competed and medaled at the Senior level in singles and was an Eastern and National Synchronized competitor. Kristin trained with World and Olympic coaches Peter Burrows and Tommy Litz. She has trained skaters from Basic Skills to USFS Gold Medals in Figures, Moves in the Field, Freestyle, and has worked with National Collegiate competitors. Kristin has a PhD from Fordham University and resides with her family in her beloved hometown, New Canaan.
