Refund Policy


Town of New Canaan Recreation Department
Policy for Cash, Check, or Credit Card Payments

Recreation Programs
Recreation Programs- A full refund given if withdrawal notification received up to 7 days prior to the program start, less a $5.00 administrative fee, with return of unused t-shirt and/or hat, if applicable.

Day Camps – A full refund given if withdrawal notification received up to 14 days prior to the session start, less a $25.00 fee per child per session.  If a participant is forced to leave after the start of a session due to injury, a prorated refund may be given at the at the Director’s discretion

After School Classes – A $5 administration fee assessed if parent notification to the Recreation Office occurs up to 7 days before the start of the class. $25 fee assessed if notification occurs within 7 days before the start of the class. No refunds will be issued after the class starts.  

There are no pro-rated partial refunds

Refunds will be submitted by original form of payment, except for cash which will be refunded by a check payment.

Facility Permits
There are no refunds on permits for Waveny Pool, Kiwanis Park, Mead Park Tennis, and Waveny Paddle Tennis.

Waveny House and Lapham Community Center Rentals
Deposits are non-refundable.
Rental Fee- if written cancellation letter is received 60-90 days prior to event, we refund 50% of the rental fee.
Rental Fee- if written cancellation letter is received 0-60 days prior to event, we cannot provide any refund.
Clean-up Bond- will be refunded in full with written cancellation letter
Clean-up Bond- will be refunded in full following event less unpaid balance
Walled Garden fee- will be refunded only if cancellation is due to inclement weather.
